Award Winner Sampler Pack
Merlot 2019-rated 94 by VinePair
The Boeger Estate Merlot is the dark horse of the winery. The variety is often underplayed by the assumption of Merlot’s quality from the popular movie, Sideways. However, our Merlot has been served in the White House on more than one occasion and continues to be a staple to our wine portfolio. The name Merlot is derived from the French word “merle” referring to a blackbird. This could be from the dark sleek blue and black color of the grapes. Being the most planted variety in Bordeaux, France, we are proud to produce it to this day. Drink now through 2030.
Cabernet Sauvignon 2020-91 points from Wine & Spirits
Made primarily with grapes grown between 2,000-2,850’ in elevation in the El Dorado Foothills, this elegant Cabernet combines soft, alluring fruit aromas with savory varietal characters. Soft on the palate, but with nicely structured tannins, this wine pairs effortlessly with a wide variety of dishes. Drink now through 2033.
El Dorado Zinfandel 2019-Gold Medal winner California State Fair 2023
Our El Dorado Zinfandel comes from two distinct parcels of our Estate vineyards. The older Fossati block is planted with our “Old Clone” Zinfandel variety, which was grafted with cuttings taken from vines found on the property when it was purchased in 1972. Planted by the family of the original property settlers, these vines likely dated back to the late 19th century, and always contribute a uniquely earthy, chocolatey aroma. The newer estate grapes provide a more overtly fruit-forward aroma of ripe red fruits. These distinct lots are blended together to yield a Zin with an alluring, red-fruit-dominant aroma. Drink now through 2027.
*Gift packs picked up in the tasting room will come in a 3 bottle carrier decorated with festive ribbons. Shipped orders are packed in our standard shipping box with festive crinkle paper. All orders include a Boeger holiday card with your personal gift message.
